Interaction 20 Redux: Corona Edition

A look back at this year’s IXDA’s Interaction 20 conference in Milan, Italy with a new perspective.

Back in February after attending the Interaction 20 conference in Milan, I wrote an article summarizing 5 emerging themes I saw throughout talks and conversations that week. I was asked to speak at the Redux event for the Netherlands IXDA chapter and share those themes.

Shortly after I posted that first article, Italy was hit with an outbreak of coronavirus and we are still in the midst of a global pandemic today. The Redux event organizers were forced to make our gathering virtual. All the attendees have been working from home for months. We cannot help but look at these themes from a changed perspective.

We stand at the beginning of a new decade. A decade which begins with a pandemic and ends with the promise of a climate crisis. It is with this lens that we look back upon these themes again.
